Albert Behr is Principal of Behr & Associates. In his 20 years of professional experience, he has led both the financing and operational execution of some of North America's and Asia's most famous technology companies. Prior to his current work of assisting/funding numerous clean tech and information technology companies at the executive and board-level through his company, Behr & Associates Inc., Albert was involved in Investment Banking funding and operationally driving some of the most promising technology firms in Canada.
He assisted in the funding and performed the function of Chief Strategy Officer for BorderWare Technologies, a leading vendor of network security products. Also, Albert has performed the role of COO of NRG Group, a TSE-listed venture capital firm. Before that, Albert was Vice President Marketing and Product Management for Platform Computing Corporation, a Toronto-based enterprise load-balancing software firm. Albert earned an MBA in High Technology Marketing and Finance from North Dakota State University in the United States and an Undergraduate Degree in Economics and Psychology from University of Manitoba in Canada.
Mike Bowman is Associate VP in PricewaterhouseCooper's Corporate Finance Practice. Bowman is a Chartered Accountant and works within PwC LLC's Corporate Finance team. Bowman focuses on the clean technology sector and specializes in advising and assisting clients with mergers and acquisitions and capital raising, including; private debt, private equity and public equity.
Bowman has advised on several local and international transactions including; private equity acquisitions, non-core asset carve-out sales, capital raise, refinancing of credit facilities, market valuation analysis and acquisition targeting and execution.
John Gocek is COO of Sofame Technologies. Angella Hughes is the President and CEO of Xogen Technologies Inc. in Orangeville. In this role, Angella oversees the business of developing electrolytic technologies to treat wastewater. With operations in Orangeville Ontario, the company plans to locate its first Canadian demonstration plant to treat municipal wastewater in the Town of Orangeville. Angella has worked with businesses, government and academia to raise capital, develop business relationships and build the product development team at Xogen.
Angella started her career as a Quality Assurance Engineer with Rockwell International Corporation in Toronto, moving on to be come a technical staff member with Boeing Company in California. She then became the Vice President Research and Development with Xogen Power in Calgary before the move to Orangeville five years ago.
Angella holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and an Electronic Technologist diploma from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology. She continues to pursue business studies started at the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON.
Philip Ling is an electrical engineer and a partner in Powersmiths, a Brampton-based company specializing in green building technologies. As Vice-President, Technology, he has led development of energy conservation technologies, ISO 14001 manufacturing, most recently technology that advances sustainability by using the building as a teaching tool. Philip contributes to several professional organizations including the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, where he serves as technical advisor for their Sustainability Tracking & Rating System. Philip volunteers on several town committees in his community and is currently Chair of Markham’s Environmental
Advisory Committee.
Jacoline Loewen is Managing Partner at Loewen & Partners Inc. She is an experienced corporate consultant, lecturer and writer of business strategy. Jacoline is a graduate of McGill University (B.A. Industrial Relations) and obtained her MBA from the Witswaterand University Business School, South Africa.

Lana Paton is a Partner with PwC in downtown Toronto, where she specializes in taxation issues related to companies in the energy and mining sectors and multi-nationals. She is PwC's tax leader for Climate Change in the GTA. Paton has a broad range of experience providing tax advice to clients in the energy industry, including both generators and distributors, as well as clients in the mining industry.
Paton's tax experience includes tax issues related to payments in lieu of tax, cross-border tax planning, acquisitions, divestitures, corporate reorganizations, provincial capital taxes and levies and dealing with taxation authorities in all levels of the government. Paton's current and past clients include Ontario Power Generation, Cameco Corporation, Chevron Texaco, IMAX, Newmont Mining, Tate & Lyle, Vale Inco Limited, Xcel Energy and various local distribution companies.
Wendy Potomski is Vice-President and a Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder within PwC's Sustainable Business Solutions Practice. Potomski has followed closely the issue of climate change and the developments within the electricity marketplace since 2000. Since joining PwC, she has been involved in a variety of assignments, ranging from the development of business plans and business cases to evaluation of strategic options and change management strategies to assist clients responding to regulatory changes and new industry developments. She has also been involved in a variety of assignments conducting external surveys to collect specific organization data against which to benchmark clients.
Potomski brings close to 15 years of consulting experience assisting clients identifying existing and potential risks and opportunities within the electricity industry and within a carbon-constrained environment. She has recently been assisting multi-national organizations compile and calculate greenhouse gas emissions inventories, from which to benchmark their operations and develop informed energy and carbon management strategies.
Tony Verrelli is Chief Executive Officer and Director, Cleanfield Energy. Tony has been the President and a Director of Cleanfield Energy since 2002. His senior management experience includes diverse private, public and nonprofit organizations, with each experience revealing a solid record of accomplishment and leadership. During the past 18 years, he has held various management, marketing and sales positions, and has managed over 250 marketing projects. Tony has been involved in the renewable energy industry for the past seven years and the environmental industry since 1995.
John Whitehead is Assistant Deputy Minister, Regulatory Affairs and Strategic Policy for the Government of Ontario. John holds a Bachelor of Arts, Specialized Honours, in Economics from York University (1980). He has 25 years of service in the OPS and has held progressively senior positions in the Ministry of Finance since 1980, most recently as Director of the Personal Income Tax and Fiscal Arrangements Branch in the Office of the Budget and Taxation.
Over the years, John has provided tax policy advice to Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Cabinet and its committees on issues related to Ontario personal income tax, Employee Health Tax and on fiscal aspects of the government's intergovernmental agenda. He has also been instrumental in the preparation of the annual Ontario budget and in reviewing and evaluating proposals for tax policy changes. John has also been a fixture at meetings of premiers and first ministers in recent years, and was a key member of the Ontario delegation that successfully negotiated the new health care agreement with the federal government in September 2004.
