"The approval of our application to use the ULEF designation solidifies NU Green's position as the greenest solution available on the market today," says Lise Plante, Product Manager, Panel Business Unit. "Not only is NU Green manufactured using 100% pre-consumer recycled wood fibre, but now, through this exemption, is also recognized as complying with CARB Phase 2, the world's most stringent emission standards.”
The CARB reserves ULEF categorization for products whose formaldehyde emissions are consistently below 0.04 ppm (CARB Phase 2) and NU Green is consistently below 0.01 ppm. NU Green particleboard is also certified under the Environmentally Preferred Product (EPP) program with the Composite Panel Association (CPA) and is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified by the Rainforest Alliance. NU Green particleboard is produced exclusively at Uniboard’s Sayabec mill in the province of Quebec.
