The $1 million plus acquisition of Green Switch brings with it the eco-consulting capabilities for energy retrofitting and commercial upgrades for commercial operations seeking greater efficiencies. Customers and contracts acquired through this merger include Robbins Parking Services and renowned salmon fishing resort, Queen Charlotte Lodge. Green Switch, a well-known name in eco-consulting, is the first in the province to develop a full-service retrofitting model assisting customers in the light to medium sized manufacturing sector across the Province.
According to Greenscape Capital CEO, Bryan Slusarchuk, “This is an exciting next step for our business. Greenscape is a full service, turnkey provider of environmental upgrades and energy retrofits like those offered through Green Switch. We are now able to offer triple bottom benefits that include decreased energy costs and increased operating efficiencies. In just the past month along we have signed on an additional 6.7 million dollars in contracts.”
Timing of this acquisition also coincides with a number of other green announcements dominating the political headlines. In addition to Vancouver’s Mayor Robertson’s 2020 goal of making Vancouver the greenest city in the world. A large US energy report was also released this week by McKinsey and Company predicting $520 billion of investments will be spent on energy efficiencies in the next 10 years, which are expected to generate savings of $1.2 trillion.
Slusarchuk adds, “I believe the retrofitting business is one of greatest business opportunities that North American’s have seen in the past fifty years.”
