Enermodal releases generic LEED RFP tool

E-mail Print PDF

Green building consultants Enermodal Engineering have released a new tool to assist building owners and architects: a generic Request for Proposal (RFP) for a LEED consultant.

The tool is a 9-page generic RFP that includes customizable sections highlighted, and covers all available green building services related to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), including LEED consulting (and the consultant’s qualifications and the CaGBC submittals), energy efficiency engineering, operations and maintenance training manuals, air tightness testing, indoor air quality testing, commissioning, building performance monitoring, and green building education program development.

“With the increasing amount of interest in LEED, there is a wider range of LEED services offered. With this great variance in scope of work, some architects and owners are not necessarily getting what they expect – and what they expect should be clearly spelled out in the RFP,” says Stephen Carpenter, president of Enermodal and the chair of the Canada Green Building Council’s Technical Advisory Group. “This tool will help architects and building owners get what they expect from their consultant through an effective RFP process.”

The tool is available to download from Enermodal’s website as a Word file at www.enermodal.com/Canadian/leed_rfp.html.
