Among the guest speakers will be The Right Honourable Edward Schreyer, former Governor General of Canada and former Premier of Manitoba. He will speak at the final plenary on Friday, May 15 at 1:30 p.m. in the Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Learning & Discovery.
Other notable speakers: John Gerretsen, Minister of the Environment for Ontario and Duncan Hawthorne, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bruce Power who will both speak at the conference dinner on May 14 at LIUNA Station; John Boyd, past president, Golder Associates; David Sanborn Scott, vice-president, International Association for Hydrogen Energy.
CCTC 2009 is hosted by the Engineering Institute of Canada as the principle organizer in partnership with nine of its member societies: IEEE, Canadian Society for Civil Engineering, Canadian Dam Association, Canadian Nuclear Society, Canadian Geotechnical Society, Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering, Canadian Society for Engineering Management, Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering, Canadian Society for Senior Engineers. McMaster University is the host site for the conference and an event sponsor.
